This fire ocurred in Fairfax County Station 18's first due as FCVFD members worked at the Memorial Day festivities in the City of Falls Church. ACFD firefighters from Station 6 responded on the first alarm. Truck 106 was first arriving aerial and their ladder pipe was used extensively once an interior attack was withdrawn. The building housed a Chili's restaurant until recently and was vacant at the time of the fire. The fire also damaged several adjoining businesses. Damage was estimated at $500,000. |
