Chief Lowry joined the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department in 2008 after serving with the Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Department in Arlington, VA and the John Carroll EMS Department in University Heights, Ohio, where he served as a founding member and Captain. In addition to being the Deputy Chief in this department, Joe also serves as the Volunteer Coordinator of the Arlington County Fire & Rescue Assocation. In that capacity, he is responsible for coordinating volunteer activities and training for firefighters and EMTs in Arlington County and the City of Falls Church.
Chief Lowry is a certified Emergency Medical Technician as well as a Basic Life Support Provider, responsible for patient care on the ambulance. He is also a certified level 2 firefighter and holds a certification in hazardous materials operations. Outside our department, Chief Lowry works for the US House of Representatives, providing emergency management support. He and his wife Eileen live in Sterling, VA. |
