Ian Weston joined the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department in 2008 after serving 9 years as a firefighter and EMT with the Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department in Great Neck, NY and 4 years as an EMT and FTO with the Syracuse University Ambulance Corps in Syracuse, NY. In addition to Secretary, Ian also serves as the Volunteer Coordinator of the Arlington County Fire & Rescue Assocation. In that capacity, he is responsible for coordinating volunteer activities and training for firefighters and EMTs in Arlington County and the City of Falls Church.
Professionally, full time, Ian serves as Director of the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) program at Children’s National Medical Center. As the lead for their State Partnership and Disaster Preparedness Technical Assistance Team, Ian is responsible for providing infrastructure support to state EMSC programs, partners and trauma systems. He also represents the interests of the program, serving on a number of national organization’s pediatric emergency health committees and advisory boards.
Originally from Long Island, NY, Ian received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy & Political Science from Syracuse University and his Masters Degree in Global Health Policy from George Mason University.
